IF Design Award followed by prestigious Red Dot
Only a few weeks after receiving four IF DESIGN Awards, Zimmer Group has now also been honored with the renowned Red Dot Product Design Award. The Red Dot DESIGN AWARD's high-level jury distinguished the Zimmer Group six times over with the coveted seal of quality in the industrial equipment, machines and automation categories. Alongside the four grippers distinguished by the IF Award, counted among the winners were the GPP5000 parallel gripper, the GPD5000IL hybrid centric gripper, the GED5000 hybrid centric gripper and the GEP2000 electric parallel gripper – and first and foremost, the GEP5000 electric parallel gripper and the GEH6000 electric long stroke gripper.
At Zimmer, the elation over being distinguished with a coveted international design trophy is tremendous. Marcel Pfeiffer, Design & Marketing Manager at Zimmer Group, discusses the secret to our success: “Zimmer Group's clear design philosophy organizes products into functional units and projects and conveys longevity, quality and innovative strength. The design not only projects the appearance of the products, but most importantly their function”
Zimmer Group will officially receive the Red Dot Design Award on July 9, 2018. The winners will be honored at the traditional Red Dot Gala held at the Aalto Theater in the Essen Opera House in front of more than an anticipated 1,000 guests from the design and industry, business and the media.
As a result of the award, the Zimmer grippers will not only be included in the Red Dot Yearbook, but will also be given their own exhibition site in the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen on July 9, 2018.
The Red Dot Design Awards goes back to 1955 and is today the largest and most important design competition worldwide.
