Collision protection and energy element product lines add variety

The existing installation sizes of the CRR collision protection are now available in two versions. The "S" variant is extremely rigid, which makes even small installation sizes suitable for high loads. The "N" version is intended for slow travel with small or especially sensitive tools. The CRR can be used even at low pressure and is particularly sensitive in combination with its soft integrated spring.

The energy elements of the WER series carry different media, such as pneumatic or electrical energy, via the interface of a tool changer. Now available is a selection of approximately 50 energy element pairs that fit all series and sizes of Zimmer tool changers. The variants in the standard range offer various functions with different standard connections, a long service life and IP54 degree of protection. The new products offer the following functions:

  • Transmission by means of spring contacts: The new energy elements with spring contacts need only a small amount of force for joining and none at all for releasing. This provides benefits especially for robots with low force or for storage stations that do not hold the loose part during the releasing process.
  • Direct connection for the sensors: The elements offer four standard connections for sensors, optionally with three or four pins. This avoids not only the need for a sensor/actuator distributor, but also the assembly effort.
  • Shielding: Signals can be transmitted without interference by means of the feedthrough of the cable shield. This is useful for servomotors and spindles, for example.
