Gripper for flywheel

For the automated assembly of a flywheel housing, a gripper needed to pick up the component and then mount it to the engine block. The wide variety of parts and the pre-assembly of the housing were special challenges here.

The solution was a flexible gripper for different workpiece types. Two pneumatic screwdrivers were integrated that screw the component to the engine block at a defined torque.
