Vacuum solution for handling a wide variety of workpieces and materials

In this application, Zimmer Groups customized vacuum gripper system, consisting of Magic Grippers from the MG, MB, MS, ML, and MA series and the ZSU sensor unit, handles a wide range of workpieces – from boxes and pallets to components made of metal and rigid plastic. The Magic Grippers enable the precise pick-up and secure handling of a wide variety of workpieces. A reliable and flexible gripping process is particularly important when handling changing materials, different surfaces, dimensions and formats. The ZSU sensor unit provides intelligent real-time vacuum monitoring, ensuring a high level of transparency and maximum process reliability throughout the entire handling process. The ZSU can simultaneously monitor and control up to eight Magic Grippers or vacuum systems. This allows multiple suction points to be managed centrally, while leaks, wear or malfunctions are detected at an early stage – before they lead to downtime or quality losses. Thanks to its compact design, a single M8 connector for input and output signals, and the choice of an NPN or PNP version, the sensor unit can be integrated flexibly and easily into a wide range of automation concepts.
