Task & Solution

At the Food Tech Learning Center in Pohang, Korea, Zimmer Group grippers and Neuromeka robots are combined to prepare coffee. The Food Tech Learning Center is a facility of the city of Pohang that aims to drive the future of the food industry through high-tech education. It is operated based on Neuromeka's robotic coffee machine technology and with guidance from POSTECH's Food Tech department. They provide training in programming robots for food technology, aimed at young people and older people, and support the digital transformation of the food industry. The Zimmer Group's GEH6040IL-03-B gripper was attached to the Neuromeka robot, which plays such an important role. Zimmer Group's GEH6040IL-03-B 2-jaw parallel gripper can be used wirelessly and space-savingly via the IO-Link method and has an IP54 protection rating, meaning it can be used in the food and pharmaceutical industries, where high hygiene requirements apply. The GEH6040IL-03-B gripper held the coffee cup with precise force and at the correct angle without wobbling and transported it reliably.
