Challenge
On a commercial vehicle manufacturer's linked production line for cylinder blocks, tooling machines needed to be loaded and unloaded through automation. The different weights of the cylinder blocks and the need to reorient workpieces in the gripper were special challenges.
Solution
The solution used was a reinforced pneumatic stand-up axis, two GH6400 series standard long stroke grippers and a servo-swivel jaw, which was used to rotate the workpieces.
