Gripper for crankshafts
System solutions | Mobility | Automobile | Drive train for combustion engines
        Challenge

For a semi-truck manufacturer, a 110 kg crankshaft needed to be inserted into the clamping device of a lathe, taking the radial orientation into consideration.
        Solution

Thanks to the use of Zimmer Group standard components, a cost-effective solution was able to be implemented. Two standard angular grippers from the GG1000 series were used here; the radial orientation on the counter bearing was achieved by a standard MGH8350.
