Challenge
For welding suspension dampers, certain areas needed to be protected from weld spatter. In this process, a cover needed to be supplied to an indexer linearly and turned with the indexer during the welding process.
Solution
As the solution, a device was developed that feeds spray protection made of Wirbalit material via a pneumatic linear axis. A mounted rotary axis is powered by the rotation of the welding table. An integrated axis compensation module ensures compensation for the axial offset. The entire device was implemented in a weldable design.
