Start of training in 2025
Zimmer Group welcomes 23 young professionals
On Monday, September 1, 2025, Zimmer Group officially kicked off the new training year with a three-day introductory event. A total of 21 trainees and 2 dual students are starting their professional careers this year at the automation company in Rheinau.
The young professionals are spread across the following training occupations: IT specialist (1), warehouse logistics specialist (2), industrial clerk (2), industrial mechanic (10), cook (1), plastics and rubber technologist (1), mechatronics engineer (3), and technical product designer (1), as well as the dual study programs in mechanical engineering (1) and mechatronics (1).
In a short speech, Managing Director Jonas Zimmer welcomed the new colleagues and emphasized their important role in the company. With 1,350 employees worldwide, Zimmer Group is now strongly positioned internationally and is experiencing exciting times, marked by issues such as the internationalization of the company and the generational change in management. “Many success stories, including those within our company, began with an apprenticeship or a degree program. With an exceptionally high retention rate of almost 100%, a large number of colleagues who form the foundation of the company today have emerged from our own training programs,” said Jonas Zimmer.
After this warm welcome, the new trainees, students, and trainers introduced themselves in an interactive round of introductions. Trainee Marcel Hetz then gave a company presentation and provided information about training, occupational safety, and youth and trainee representation. Over pizza and a subsequent company rally, the young professionals had the opportunity to get to know the two locations in Rheinau better.
The next day's program included product training, an introduction to quality and energy management, and an occupational safety course. The day ended with a first glimpse into everyday training life.
On the third day, the traditional trainee outing took place, in which the trainees and students in their higher years of training also participated. Supported by the external provider Black Forest Action, the focus was on exciting team-building activities. Divided into six groups, the participants competed against each other in various disciplines, strengthening their team spirit, creativity, and cohesion.
With the start of the 2025 training year, Zimmer Group once again highlighted the importance of qualified training and promoting young talent in the region.
